What is Art Dako?

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak (RCOD) will be holding an exhibition called Art Dako on the 14th and 15th September 2012, designed to increase community awareness of issues around men-only cancers, specifically testicular and prostate cancer. The exhibition will have both creative and educational components and involve as many community groups and individuals as possible with no geographical restriction. The creative component will consist of displays and sale of visual arts items in multi-media; the educational component will be provided by relevant groups such as the Cancer Council, Orange Prostate Support Group and Lifeline.

The creative works in the exhibition could involve a theme related to men's underwear, shorts, daks or codpieces, male anatomy or anything that relates to men-only cancers. They can be humerous but can also convey a message that raises awareness or educates.
